Incorrectly filing half-yearly contributions results in significant fines, as a Provider has a legal obligation to ensure such contributions are made. MySuper is governed by a stricter set of regulatory rules than traditional industry vehicles. As their name suggests, they offer a range of super-low fees and (generally) high investment performance. Simplicity is the major appeal of the design of MySuper products.

Employers and employees must meet certain half-yearly contribution standards. Administrators must make sure these standards are met. If an employee has lost or forgotten about half yearly contributions before receiving wage slips, the employer can make personal contributions for them for the remainder of the tax year. For example, if an employee is earning $48,000 per year and must contribute 9% of at least $48,000 to their superannuation account each year (as a minimum – depending on their Super co-contribution, their actual rate of first 2% might be less).

If an employee does not contribute the required amount to their super account for a particular period, the Administrator is liable for the outstanding contributions on behalf of the employee. There are a number of ways an employer can correct this:

The employer can make up the breach himself

He can use wages withheld from the employee’s final pay to make up the entire shortfall

The employer can ask the employee to make up the shortfall

If this occurs and the Administrator decides to take these further steps, ensure that they do so formally, even if they have no objections to making up the shortfall itself.

What are the Consequences?

Non-compliance is considered a serious offence under the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992. Non-compliance is also a breach of a focused set of occupational and financial regulations. The consequences for such non-compliance can be quite severe. In 2008/09, there were just over 96,000 penalty notices issued to employers and trustees under the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993.

For this reason it is worth taking some time to investigate and determine the applicable rules for your company, keeping in mind that these rules can apply differently depending on which Australian state an employer is located. The administrators of the superannuation income funds must lodge a return to demonstrate how much tax was paid on behalf of you and/or your client. If you have not done so, a fine is given by the tax department; depending on the severity of the non compliance a fine can be given as a percentage and another fine can also be given as a flat amount.

If the breach is not made up then a fine is imposed based on the total amount over which the breach occurred, the subsequent payment to the tax office is known as a super guarantee charge.

If you don’t complete your half-yearly contributions obligations, they can be made up in the following ways:

Make a lump sum payment,

Paying a lump sum into your super fund within two months of the end of the quarter in which the omission occurred and within nine calendar months from the end of the quarter in which the omission occurred.

Depending on the amount omitted, if extra contributions are made will your super fund try to attract potential investment returns by investing in riskier assets. In doing so it could negatively affect the requirements that you have set with regard to your asset allocation, super fund managers can offer a variety of different portfolios, ranging from cash to very risky assets, you need to check with your fund manager which will be appropriate to select, based on your needs.

Lastly, if you are the sole trustee of a self-managed super fund under trust deed, unless you notify the Commissioner of Taxation before the 31st of December each year stating the adoption or revocation of an election for a member or for the fund, you are treated as not having made or revoked the election, see Military Super.

Now that we have a basic understanding of TensorFlow and can define neural networks, it’s time to run our experiment on the GPU. In this part of the lesson, you will use C code to create an example that runs on the GPU. This solution provides a very good overview of current GPU programming basics using CUDA and OpenCL. You will do a lot of reading and configuring, but fortunately, you will not have to write any code for this lesson. However, feel free to rework this example slightly to get more comfortable with how to run TensorFlow on the GPU. If you are unfamiliar with C, the code is complex, so please don’t worry about understanding all of it.

A fantastic tool called CMake helps organize the compilation of your experiment and its dependencies. Even if you have never heard of CMake, give it a try here; it is simpler than it looks, and once you understand the basics, you will be able to modify the configuration file accordingly to run any experiment written in any language you like.

Note

CMake is a cross-platform program and library designed to build, test and package software. It is most commonly used to build C/C++ projects, but its functionality has expanded to include many additional languages including Python, Java, Lisp, Fortran and Make.

Take a look at the CMakeLists.txt file shown in Example 4-8. We will now walk you through all of the commands used in this file.

The first block sets the minimum version required to run the code, as well as where TensorFlow can be found. The latter chunk of code finds TensorFlow, makes it visible throughout the project, and sets up the environment using an extension to CMake. Finally, the last block of the code creates an executable, specifying the libraries on which the code depends.

Build CMake for the GPU

You need a specific version of CMake to compile TensorFlow library for the GPU. Download Tarball 1 of the release candidates posted by Andrei Mihailescu: https://code.google.com/archive/p/cmake/release/1.5.0rc1/cmake-1.5.0-rc1.tar.gz . On your Linux machine, gunzip and untar the file to a directory of your choice. Then, to include the development files in your build, add the following line to your /etc/profile.bash_profile (Mac OS X systems should use ~/.bash_profile):

export PATH=$PATH:/projects/cmake/files/CMake-1.5.0-rc1/bin

If you wish to run the examples in Windows, simply follow the corresponding instructions in Chapter 3.

Get TensorFlow and CUDA

To install TensorFlow, execute the following commands:

Kahuta Fort District: Kahuta Fort, a uninhabited Historic place, is located on the banks of River Kabul. It is less than 3 miles from the famous Serai Alamgir resting place of Timur’s Tomb. The fort was built in 1635 and is now defunct due to natural causes, but it attracts tourists every month and forms an important tourist stop in Punjab Pakistan.

Kashmir Highway is a spectacular highway connecting Islamabad, heart of Pakistan and picturesque Northern Areas with the wolverine state of Jammu & Kashmir.

About 67 Km-long Kashmir Highway consists two bits: the first bit is between Rawalpindi and Besham, where it has junctions with the M1 Motorway, which is a continuation of Multan Road or Grand Trunk Road. The second bit starts from Besham, and ends in Muzaffarabad, capital of Azad Kashmir.

The highway extends through the middle part of Pothohar Plateau i.e. Upper and Middle Pothohar, comprising Murree Hills and Rawalpindi. The road goes through the next all interesting places: Chakri Interchange, Talli, Lalazar, Saidpur, Athara Hazari, Jhika Gali, Aabpara and Kashmir Colony, itself.

Oad Zikri Waterfalls is a waterfall of serenity and tranquility, located in Salt Ranges of Jhelum District in Punjab Province. Oad Zikri means “Valley of the Saints” in local Urdu language. It is a very spacious valley with different kinds of trees like maple, pine etc.

The Valley is situated 30 Km away from famous Salt Mines of Selaqui. The valley is amidst of lush greenery, surrounded by springs and deodar forests. You will find picturesque scenes around the valley.

A stream gets accumulated after getting soaked into the surrounding rocks and makes a gentle flow downwards, named Chandan Khor (Sandal Forest).

To reach Oad Ziarki Waterfall, by a taxi or funicular for 2.5 hours drive. If you want to make your way there by bicycle then begin from Sahaqui and start riding from there. Facilities are also available for camping, private barbecues, bathrooms, shops etc.

Salt Ranges: Salt Range stretches from the Margala Pass in the east to Jehlum River in the west. It is located 70 Km north of the country’s capital city Islamabad.

It is suggested to visit the Salt Ranges especially at night, when its full glory can be experienced. It is one of the best tourist places in Punjab Nad it is a very exciting experience during pre-summer there. One can find pale yellow colours at its end.
